!History: He enlisted in Captain Gilchrist's company of militia 27 Mar 1759.
He served in the Revolution in the second regiment under Col. Thomas and in the first regiment under Col. Hammond, and was pensioned for disability, allegedly for the loss of an arm. He was "inhumanely slain by Nathaniel Underhill May 26th AD 1779." The story is that , while carrying a pail of water from a nearby spring to his house on Frankllin Street, he was surprisec by a Tory raiding party headed by Underhill who cut him down with a sword in his own doorway.

!Conflict: The IGI has the ordinace dates as listed with birthdate as 1742, work done bu relative John A. Wolf. The ordinace work was again done in 1991 in Dallas with the mother's name spelled Devaux of Hackensack, Bergen, NJ.
