He was a boatman by occupation and owned Martling's Landing, afterwards known as Requm's dock, at the foot of White Street. He was commissioned first lieutenant of the Upper Philipsburgh Associated Company of militia 13 Sept 1775 and 16 June 1778 succeeded William Dutvner as Captain. |
