Virtue

Virtue includes chastity and is also related to charity.

We all need to strive for virtue in our lives

All should practice virtue and holiness before the Lord, Doctrine and Covenants 38:23-25 and Doctrine and Covenants 46:33. We believe in being virtuous, Articles of Faith 13 and Philippians 4:8. "Let virtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly," Doctrine and Covenants 121:45-46. "virtue loveth virtue," Doctrine and Covenants 88:40. Those with pure hearts will stand in holy places, Psalm 24:3-4.

To achieve the divine nature we need to have virtue, 2 Peter 1:2-9. Virtue is one of the requirements for missionary work, Doctrine and Covenants 4:5-6.

Virtues women are praised

The value of a virtuous woman is far above rubies, Proverbs 31:10-31. "A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband," Proverbs 12:4.

Ruth is praised as a virtues women, Ruth 3:10-11. Emma is called an elect lady and is promised that if she walks in the paths of virtue will receive an inheritance in Zion, Doctrine and Covenants 25:2-3.

Miscellaneous Scriptures on Virtue

Decisions of Church leader need to include considerations of virtue, Doctrine and Covenants 107:30-31.

The women are to dress modestly, 1 Timothy 2:9-10. Paul is probably talking more about not being vain than showing off their bodies.
