The People Will be Gathered to Zion in The Last Days

The Lord will seek out his sheep, Ezekiel 34:11-17. Everyone will hear the gospel in his own tongue and language, D&C 90:8-12. The gospel shall be preached in all the world, Matthew 24:14. The voice of warning shall be unto all people, D&C 1:4-5. The people will be gathered in from the four quarters of the earth, 1 Nephi 19:14-17 and D&C 33:6-11. The righteous are to be brought to Zion "one of a city, and two of a family," Jeremiah 3:14-15. The Lord will send forth fishers and hunters, Jeremiah 16:16. I remember LeGrand Richards often quoting this scripture

Those who are called recognize the gospel when it is preached, 1 Corinthians 1:22. "Mine elect hear my voice and harden not their hearts," D&C 29:7-8. There are many that are blinded by the subtle craftiness of men and kept from the truth because they know not where to find it, D&C 123:11-12.

Abraham's seed is to carry the gospel to all people, Abraham 2:9-11, Genesis 12:1-3, Genesis 22:17-18, Acts 3:25, and 1 Nephi 15:18. "I will give thee for a light to the Gentiles," Isaiah 49:6. The Church is to be a light unto the world, D&C 115:4-6. John the Baptist told the people that God was able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham, Luke 3:8. He may have been referring to the gentiles. See also 2 Nephi 30:1-2. The heathen are blessed through faith as was Abraham, Galatians 3:7.

There are many prophecies about the latter day gathering. "And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven," Revelation 14:6-7. A stone will be cut out of the mountain without hands, Daniel 2:44-45. The gospel shall roll forth unto the ends of the earth as the stone cut out of the mountain without hands, D&C 65:2-6. We are called to bring the church out of obscurity, D&C 1:30. The Church will come forth out of the wilderness of darkness and be adorned as a bride, D&C 109:72-74. The people will go to the top of the mountain to learn the Lord's ways, Isaiah 2:2-3, Micah 4:1-2 and 2 Nephi 12:2. "A marvelous work is about to come forth among the children of men," D&C 4:1-7. The gospel will go to all the world from Ohio, D&C 39:15.

It Is a Commandment to Preach The Gospel to All the World

Jesus set the example by teaching and preaching, Matthew 11:1. Jesus has chosen his disciples and commanded them to bring forth fruit, John 15:16. The Apostles were to be fishers of men, Matthew 4:18-20, Mark 1:16-20 and Luke 5:8-11.

The Apostles were called to preach the gospel, Matthew 10:5-8, Mark 3:13-15, and Luke 9:1-2. They are to preach unto all the world, (Matthew 28:19-20 and Mark 16:15) and be witnesses of Christ unto all the earth, Acts 1:8 and Acts 10:39-42. The disciples in the Americas were also given the same instruction, Mormon 9:22.

Jesus called other seventy to prepare the way before him, Luke 10:1-3. They were also called to preach the gospel to the world, D&C 107:25.

It is the responsibility of everyone who has been warned to warn his neighbor, D&C 88:80-81. "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season," 2 Timothy 4:1-2.

Repentance and remission of sins are to be preached among all nations, Luke 24:47-48. "Lifting up your voices as with the sound of a trump," D&C 75:1-4. "Declare glad tidings unto the inhabitants of the earth," D&C 62:5.

In our day the missionaries are also to "Go unto all the world," D&C 84:61-62, D&C 133:7-10 and D&C 133:37-40. Those who have a desire to warn sinners to repent should be ordained, D&C 63:57-58 and D&C 42:11-12. The missionaries are to go forth two by two, D&C 42:4-8 and D&C 61:33-35.

Those who preach the gospel need to preach by the Comforter, D&C 50:17-18 and D&C 42:14. We are to speak to the people and what we should say will be given to us by the Holy Ghost, D&C 100:5-8.

Those Who Teach the Gospel Will Be Blessed

The Apostles preach Jesus Christ which causes His light to shine in our hearts, 2 Corinthians 4:5-6. The preaching of the word has a more powerful influence on people than the sword, Alma 31:5. Alma's people wanted to be baptized and stand as witnesses of God, Mosiah 18:8-11.

Our joy will be great if we bring one soul unto Christ, D&C 18:14-16. Joy will be in heaven over one sinner that repentants, Luke 15:6-7.

Those who teach and live the commandments will be great in the kingdom of heaven, Matthew 5:19-20. "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings ...", Isaiah 52:7-8, Mosiah 12:21-22, Mosiah 15:13-17, 3 Nephi 20:40 and Romans 10:15.

The fullness of the gospel is to be proclaimed to the world by the weak and simple through the Lord's help, D&C 1:17-23, D&C 11:21-22 and D&C 35:12-16. The Lord promises that He will watch over the missionaries and that His angles will bear them up, D&C 84:87-88.
