God knows all things

The Lord understands and governs all things, Doctrine and Covenants 88:40-43. God has perfect knowledge, Job 37:14-16 and Moses 1:6. All wisdom and knowledge are in God, Colossians 2:1-3. Knowledge is part of the divine nature, 2 Peter 1:4-8. The Lord is a God of knowledge, 1 Samuel 2:2-3.

The Lord has all knowledge, Romans 11:33-36.

Light and understanding proceeds from God, Doctrine and Covenants 88:11-13. The glory of God is light and truth, Doctrine and Covenants 93:35-37. Jesus Christ is the light of truth, Doctrine and Covenants 88:5-7. The Lord is a God of truth, Ether 3:11-12. The Lord speaks the truth, Doctrine and Covenants 1:37-39.

It is the Lord that gives wisdom to the wise, Daniel 2:20-23. Praying to the Father helps us understand Christ's words, 3 Nephi 17:2-3. After the resurrection Jesus opened the Apostle's understanding of the scriptures, Luke 24:44-47.

The Lord's servants are given knowledge from time to time, Doctrine and Covenants 1:24-28. The priesthood holds the key of the knowledge of God, Doctrine and Covenants 84:19. Man can not stop the Lord from giving His knowledge to the Church, Doctrine and Covenants 121:33. The Lord reasons with the leaders of His Church so that they can gain knowledge and understanding, Doctrine and Covenants 50:10-12.

The Holy Ghost teaches truth and knowledge

Through the Holy Ghost we can know the truth of all things, Moroni 10:4-5. The Holy Ghost teaches the truth, Doctrine and Covenants 50:13-14. Another name for the Holy Ghost is the "Spirit of Truth", Doctrine and Covenants 6:15-16 The Spirit gives light and truth to every man, Doctrine and Covenants 84:44-47. The truth comes from the Spirit of truth, Doctrine and Covenants 50:16-23. The Spirit of the Lord is truth, Doctrine and Covenants 88:66-67

Some of the greater works of God can only be known through the Holy Spirit, Doctrine and Covenants 76:114-118. One of the gifts of the Spirit is knowledge, 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 and Doctrine and Covenants 46:17-26. The Holy Spirit gives us knowledge and power, Alma 18:34-35. A bishop can have knowledge of temporal things through the Holy Spirit, Doctrine and Covenants 107:71-72.

We are to teach others

The missionaries are to go forth and declare the truth, Doctrine and Covenants 75:2-5. As we plant the seed as Alma instructs we can know of the goodness of the word, Alma 32:33-35. John the Baptist spread knowledge about the Savior to the people, Luke 1:76-79. Ammon and his brethren were able to bring many Lamanites to the knowledge of the truth, Alma 23:5-6. Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery are told that they will bring many to the knowledge of the truth, Doctrine and Covenants 6:10-11.

Parents have a responsibility to help their children understand the truths of the gospel, Doctrine and Covenants 68:25. We are to bring up our children in light and truth, Doctrine and Covenants 93:39-40 King Benjamin taught his sons from the plates passed down from his ancestors, Mosiah 1:2-5.

The pastors feed the Lord's people with knowledge, Jeremiah 3:14-15. Teachers of knowledge need to be sure they are not hypocrites, Romans 2:19-22. The priests were to teach the people having the knowledge of God, Mosiah 18:26. Some are given the spiritual gift to teach the word of knowledge, Moroni 10:8-11.

If we have knowledge we can help each other, Romans 15:14. We are to teach each other all things, even secular knowledge, Doctrine and Covenants 88:77-80. Seek learning out of the best books, Doctrine and Covenants 88:118-120.

Gaining knowledge and truth is part of God's plan for His Children

The tree of knowledge of good and evil was placed in the garden of Eden, Genesis 2:8-9, Moses 3:8-9 and Abraham 5:8-9. However, Adam and Eve were commanded not to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, Genesis 2:16-17, Moses 3:16-17 and Abraham 5:12-13. Eve partook of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and gave to Adam, Genesis 3:4-6, Genesis 3:22-23, Moses 4:10-12 and Moses 4:28-30.

We are as little children in the gospel and need to grow in the knowledge of the truth, Doctrine and Covenants 50:40. "It is impossible for a man to be saved in ignorance," Doctrine and Covenants 131:6. Strive to get wisdom and understanding, Proverbs 4:5-7. We are to learn knowledge line upon line, Isaiah 28:9-13.

We are to grow in knowledge of our Savior Jesus Christ, 2 Peter 3:18. The Lord gives us knowledge, Proverbs 2:4-9. We learn the truth by following Jesus, John 14:5-6. The words of Christ teach us what we should do, 2 Nephi 32:3-5. The Lord wants all men to come unto the knowledge of the truth, 1 Timothy 2:3-6. Through the Book of Mormon the knowledge of Jesus is brought to all of scattered Israel, 3 Nephi 16:3-4.

The Lord uses wisdom and knowledge to bring stability to the people, Isaiah 33:5-6. In the dedicatory prayer of the Kirtland Temple Joseph Smith ask the all the scattered remnants of Israel be brought to the knowledge of the truth, Doctrine and Covenants 109:67. The Savor use his knowledge to save His children, Isaiah 53:10-12.

Those that die without a knowledge of the gospel who would have received it, if they had the chance will go to the celestial kingdom, Doctrine and Covenants 137:7-9. In the Spirit World the gospel is taught to those without a knowledge of the truth, Doctrine and Covenants 138:31-32. The key of knowledge contains the sealing power, Doctrine and Covenants 128:13-14. In the resurrection we will have a perfect knowledge of all our deeds, 2 Nephi 9:13-14.

Attributes of a wise man

"Wisdom is better than rubies," Proverbs 8:8-12. The prudent are crowned with knowledge, Proverbs 14:18. "A man of knowledge increaseth strength," Proverbs 24:5-7. Knowledge can enlarge the soul, Doctrine and Covenants 121:41-44. The knowledge we gain in this life will go with us in the resurrection, Doctrine and Covenants 130:18-19.

The wise seek knowledge, Proverbs 15:12-14. "The ear of the wise seeketh knowledge," Proverbs 18:15. Wise men learn from the counsel of others, Proverbs 9:8-10. If we are humble we can grow in the knowledge of the Lord, Mosiah 4:11-12. We need to submit our will to God's knowledge, Romans 10:2-4. We should trust in the Lord instead of our own understanding, Proverbs 3:5-6.

The Lord will give great knowledge to those who serve Him, Doctrine and Covenants 76:5-10. "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge," Proverbs 1:7. If we come unto the Lord and believe in Him, He will give us additional knowledge, Ether 4:13-14. Those that keep the commandments receive truth and will know all things, Doctrine and Covenants 93:28-30. If we obey the Word of Wisdom we can have great treasures of knowledge, Doctrine and Covenants 89:18-20. Members of Christ's Church are renewed in knowledge of Him, Colossians 3:9-11.

The wise speak knowledge, Proverbs 15:2. It is wise to not say all that he knows, Proverbs 12:22-23 and Proverbs 17:27-28.

Knowledge of God is more important than other knowledge

The Lord is more interested in our mercy and knowledge of God than burnt offerings, Hosea 6:6-7. By the law of Moses we have knowledge of sins, but the law alone does not redeem us, Romans 3:20. The Children of Israel were brought into captivity because they had no knowledge of God, Isaiah 5:12-13 and 2 Nephi 15:12-13.

Paul prays that the people will have knowledge of the Lord's will, Colossians 1:8-10. Charity is more important than knowledge, 1 Corinthians 13:8 and Ephesians 3:17-19.

In the last days knowledge will be multiplied

In the times of the end knowledge will be increased, Daniel 12:3-4. In the last days the spirit of wisdom will be manifest, Isaiah 11:1-4 and 2 Nephi 21:1-4.

Truth will come out of the earth, Moses 7:62. The knowledge of the Nephites will come to the world from the Book of Mormon plates, Doctrine and Covenants 3:16-20. The Book of Mormon "contains the truth and the word of God", Doctrine and Covenants 19:26-27.

The house of Israel will come to a knowledge of the fullness of the gospel in the last days, 3 Nephi 16:10-14. In the last days the Lamanites will be brought to a knowledge of the Lord, Helaman 15:12-13. The Jews will come to a knowledge of their Redeemer, 2 Nephi 6:10-11.

At the Second Coming all things will become new so the knowledge of God can be upon the earth, Doctrine and Covenants 101:24-25. The time will come when knowledge of the Savior will spread to all people, Mosiah 3:20. In the Millennium the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord, Isaiah 11:9, Habakkuk 2:14 and 2 Nephi 21:9.

People with knowledge

The brother of Jared was able to see the Lord because of his knowledge of God, Ether 3:19-20. Abraham wanted to possess great knowledge, Abraham 1:1-2. The sons of Mosiah had studied the scriptures diligently to learn and understand the word of God, Alma 17:2-4. The Lord gave Mormon and his people knowledge for the salvation of their souls, 3 Nephi 5:19-20.

Nephi was given knowledge through visions, 2 Nephi 4:23. Joseph Smith is told that if he asks he will receive revelation upon revelation, Doctrine and Covenants 42:61. Oliver Cowdery is taught how knowledge comes from God, Doctrine and Covenants 9:7-9. Oliver Cowdery is told he will have knowledge of the old engravings if he asks in faith, Doctrine and Covenants 8:1-2.

Secular knowledge is important not just spiritual knowledge. Joseph Smith was instructed to obtain knowledge of earthly things, Doctrine and Covenants 93:53. Solomon asked the Lord for wisdom and knowledge instead of long life and riches, 2 Chronicles 1:9-12. Workmen with knowledge and skill are called to supervise the building of the tabernacle, Exodus 31:1-5. Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego were blessed with knowledge and understanding, Daniel 1:17. The people of Mosiah rejoiced in the knowledge of the history of the Jaredites, Mosiah 28:17-18.

Job's friend accuse Job of multiplying words without knowledge, Job 35:16.

What is truth

"Truth is knowledge of things as they are, and as they were, and as they are to come," Doctrine and Covenants 93:23-25. Truth speaks of things as they really are and what they will become, Jacob 4:13.

If we plant the seed of faith it can grow into an understanding and knowledge of the things of God, Alma 32:27-28. The truth will make us free, John 8:31-32.

"Mercy and truth are met together," Psalm 85:10-11.

The wicked work to destroy knowledge of the truth

We are in a war against those who consider themselves above God's knowledge, 2 Corinthians 10:4-6. Satan works to turns peoples hearts away from the truth, Doctrine and Covenants 78:10. The wicked do not like to keep God in their knowledge, Romans 1:28. "Fools hate knowledge," Proverbs 1:20-23. The wicked may always be learning but never come to a knowledge of the truth, 2 Timothy 3:5-7.

The lawyers in Jesus's day take away the key of knowledge from the people, Luke 11:52. The Lord's people have rejected knowledge, Hosea 4:6.

People will not accept knowledge even when it is explained to them in plainness, 2 Nephi 32:7. Unbelief can make it so a person can not understand the word of God, Mosiah 26:3. The wicked take the truth to be hard, 1 Nephi 16:2-3 and 2 Nephi 9:40.

If we sin after receiving a knowledge of the truth we are under further condemnation, Hebrews 10:26-27. The Nephites will be destroyed if they become wicked because they are sinning against such great knowledge of the Lord, Alma 9:18-19.

Miscellaneous scriptures on knowledge

The Lord will be slow to help those who reject His counsel, Proverbs 1:28-31.

If we say we have no sin the true is not in us, 1 John 1:8-10.

God has given us knowledge of His ways, but we are free to chose His way or not, Helaman 14:30. We should not be wise in our own eyes, Proverbs 3:7-8. Men often use knowledge unrighteously, Moses 7:32-34. Knowledge can lead men to be prideful, 1 Corinthians 8:1-3. Sometimes increasing knowledge increases sorrow, Ecclesiates 1:16-18.
