Matthew 9:28 And when he was come into the
house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye
that I am able to dot this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it
unto you.
30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them,
saying, See that no man know it.
Matthew 15:28 Then Jesus answered and said
unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou
wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
Mark 5:25 And a certain woman, which had an
issue of blood twelve years,
26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent
all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and
touched his garment.
28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she
felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone
out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my
clothes?
31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude
thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in
her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole;
go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
Mark 9:17 And one of the multitude answered and
said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb
spirit;
18 And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth,
and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to they
disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.
19 He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long
shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.
20 And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway
the spirt tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.
21 And he asked his fther, How long is it ago since this came unto
him? And he said, Of a child.
22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters,
to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us,
and help us.
23 Jesus said unto himk If thou canst believe, all things are
possible to him that believeth.
24 And straightway the father the child cried out, and said with
tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked
the foul spirit, saying unto him Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge
thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
26 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and
he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.
27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.
Mark 9:28 And when he was come into the house,
his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?
29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but
by prayer and fasting.
Luke 17:5 And the apostles said unto the Lord,
Increase our faith.
6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye
might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and
be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
John 20:24 But Thomas, one of the twelve,
called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the
Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print
of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust
my hand unto his side, I will not believe.
26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas
with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the
midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my
hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be
not faithless, but believing.
28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
29 Jesu saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast
believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him
in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of
whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written,
How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and
bring glad tidings of good things!
2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by fatih,
not by sight:)
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved
through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Ephesians 6:16 Above all, taking the shield
of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the firey darts of
the wicked.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of
things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the
word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things
which do appear.
Hebrews 11:4 By faith Abel offered unto God a
more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that
he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead
yet speaketh.
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is
impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that
he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Hebrews 11:33 Who through faith subdued
kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths
of lions,
34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out
of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight
the armies of the aliens.
35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were
tortured, not accepting deliverance; that theyu might obtain a better
resurrection:
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask
of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it
shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth
is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
James 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren,
though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and
filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful
to the body; what doth it profit?
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me
thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
James 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man
is justified, and not by faith only.
Jacob 4:6 Wherefore, we search the prophets, and
we have many revelations and the spirit of prophecy; and having all
these witnesses we obtain a hope, and our faith becometh unshaken,
insomuch that we truly can command in the name of Jesus and the very
trees obey us, or the mountains, or the waves of the sea.
7 Nevertheless, the Lord God showeth us our weakness that we may
know that it is by his grace, and his great condescensions unto the
children of men, that we have power to do these things.
1 Nephi 17:50 And I said unto them: If God
had commanded me to do all things I could do them. If he should command
me that I should say unto this water, be thou earth, it should be
earth; and if I should say it, it would be done.
51 And now, if the Lord has such great power, and has wrought so
many mracles among the children of men, how is it that he cannot
instruct me, that I should build a ship?
Enos 1:5 And there came a voice unto me, saying:
Enos, thy sins are forgiven thee, and thou shalt be blessed.
6 And I, Enos, knew that God could not lie; wherefore, my guilt was
swept away.
7 And I said: Lord, how is it done?
8 And he said unto me: Because of thy faith in Christ, whom thou
hast never before heard nor seen. And many years pass away before he
shall manifest himself in the flesh; wherefore, go to, thy faith hath
made thee whole.
Alma 32:21 And now as I said concerning faith
-- faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye
have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true.
Alma 32:26 Now, as I said concerning faith --
that it was not a perfect knowledge -- even so it is with my words. Ye
cannot know of their surety at first, unto perfection, any more than
faith is a perfect knowledge.
Alma 32:27 But behold, if ye will awake and
arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and
exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire
to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a
manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words.
28 Now, we will compare the word unto a seed. Now, if ye give place,
that a seed may be planted in your heart, behold, if it be a true seed,
or a good seed, if ye do not cast it our by your unbelief, that ye will
resist the Spirit of the Lord, behold, it will begin to swell within
your breasts; and when you feel these swelling motions, ye will begin
to say within yourselves -- It must need be that this is a good seed,
or that the word is good, for it beginneth to enlarge my soul; yea, it
beginneth to enlighten my understanding, yea, it beginneth to be
delicious to me.
29 Now behold, would not this increase your faith? I say unto you,
Yea; nevertheless it hath not grown up to a perfect knowledge.
30 But behold, as the seed swelleth, and sprouteth, and beginneth to
grow, then you must nees say that the seed is good; for behold it
swelleth, and sprouteth, and begineeth to grow. And now, behold, will
not this strengthen your faith? Yea, it will strengthen your faith: for
ye will say I know that this is a good seed; for behold it sprouteth
and beginneth to grow.
31 And now, behold, are ye sure that this is a good seed? I say unto
you, Yea; for every seed bringeth forth unto its own likeness.
32 Therefore, if a seed groweth it is good, but if it groweth not,
behold it is not good, therefore it is cast away.
33 And now, behold, because ye have tried the experiment, and
planted the seed, and it swelleth and sprouteth, and beginneth to grow,
ye must needs know that the seed is good.
34 And now, behold, is your knowledge perfect? Yea, your knowledge
is perfect in that thing, and your faith is dormant; and this because
you know, for ye know that the word hath swelled your souls, and ye
also know that it hath sprouted up, that your understanding doth begin
to be enlightened, and your mind doth begin to expand.
3 Nephi 26:8 And these things have I written,
which are a lesser part of the things which he taught the people; and I
have written them to the intent that they may be brought again unto
this people, from the Gentiles, according to the words which Jesus hath
spoken.
9 And when they shall have received this, which is expedient that
they should have first, to try their faith, and if it shall so be that
they shall believe these things then shall the greater things be made
manifest unto them.
Ether 4:6 For the Lord said unto me: They shall
not go forth unto the Gentiles until the day that they shall repent of
their iniquity, and become clean before the Lord.
7 And in that day that they shall exercise faith in me, saith the
Lord, even as the brother of Jared did, that they may become sanctified
in me, then will I manifest unto them the things which the brother of
Jared saw, even to the unfolding unto them all my revelations, saith
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Father of the heavens and of the
earth, and all things that in them are.
Ether 12:6 And now, I, Moroni, would speak
somewhat concerning these things; I would show unto the world that
faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute
not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial
of your faith.
Ether 12:12 For if there be no faith among the
children of men God can do no miracle among them; wherefore, he showed
not himself until after their faith.
Ether 12:19 And there were many whose faith
was so exceedingly strong, even before Christ came, who could not be
kept from within the veil, but truly saw with their eyes the things
which they had beheld with an eye of faith, and they were glad.
20 And behold, we have seen in this record that one of these was the
brother of Jared; for so great was his faith in God, that when God put
forth his finger he could not hide it from the sight of the brother of
Jared, because of his word which he had spoken unto him, which word he
had obtained by faith.
21 And after the brother of Jared had beheld the finger of the Lord,
because of the promise which the brother of Jared had obtained by
faith, the Lord could not withhold anything from his sight; wherefore
he showed him all things, for he could no longer be kept without the
veil.
Moroni 7:33 And Christ had said: If ye will
have faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsover thing is expedient
in me.
Moroni 10:4 And when ye shall receive these
things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father,
in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall
ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he
will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all
things.
Moroni 10:11 And to another, exceedingly
great faith; and to another, the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
D&C 88:118 And as all have not faith, seek ye
diligently and teach one another words of wisdom; yea, seek ye out of
the best books words of wisdom; seek learning, even by study and also
by faith.
119 Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing; and establish
a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith,
a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of
God;
D&C 138:32 Thus was the gospel preached to
those who had died in their sins, without a knowledge of the truth, or
in transgression, having rejected the prophets.
33 These were taught faith in God, repentance from sin, vicarious
baptsim for the remission of sins, the gift of the Holy Ghost by the
laying on of hands,
34 And all other principles of the gospel that were necessary for
them to know in order to qualify themselves that they might be judged
according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
Moses 7:13 And so great was the faith of Enoch
that he led the people of God, and their enemies came to battle against
them; and he spake the word of the Lord, and the earth trembled, and
the mountains fled, even according to his command; and the rivers of
water were turned out of their course; and the roar of the lions was
heard out of the wilderness; and all nations feared greatly, so
powerful was the word of Enoch, and so great was the power of the
language which God had given him.
AF 4 We believe that the first principles and
ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ;
second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of
sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
